About Master Arts Theatre

Master Arts exists to positively impact West Michigan artists and audiences through community theater that is wholesome, enlightening, and enriching guided by a Christian worldview.

Christian Perspective.  The Master in Master Arts is Christ.   As an organization, we are explicitly committed to performance art that is glorifying to God.  This influences the scripts we choose, the venues in which we perform, the classes that we offer, and the way in which we conduct all of our activities.

Quality Performance.  Our standard of excellence is formed by our desire to honor our Creator and by the rigors of maintaining artistic credibility in the community.  This standard affects every aspect of the artistic process—training, rehearsals, performances, and management.

A Nurturing Community.  Both experienced and emerging artists are pro-actively encouraged and supported in the development of their talents.  A welcoming community atmosphere guides our training and production activities.

Church and Community.  Master Arts seeks to be a bridge between the arts and the church, providing training, resources, and expertise in drama.  We partner with other organizations and ministry efforts in the area.

Our Vision

Master Arts envisions a future where a strong Christian theater community exists which enfolds and educates emerging artists, where Christian artists are empowered to fully utilitize their creative gifts, where Christians discern live theater as a viable entertainment alternative, where quality theatre consistent with a Christian worldview is accepted and supported by West Michigan audiences, and where drama is embraced as a means of bringing glory to God.

Our Statement of Faith

Master Arts Theatre, as an organization believes in the unique Divine Inspiration, entire trustworthiness and authority of the Bible, the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the necessity and efficacy of the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ for the redemption of the world, and the historic fact of his bodily resurrection, the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration, and in the spiritual maturing process in the life of the believer, and the expectation of the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
