They’ve been married a long time
Even before the accident
Their love has seen troubles
No couple should endure
“What would you like?”
“Just water.”
He jumps up and gets it.
Not out of duty…
Not out of slavery…
Out of love.
There are no grins,
No giggling,
No googly eyes,
Just and act
A simple act
Water, with ice.
